# Cloth Lab 0.8.1 (English UI) — Blender Extensions package

Free, open-source cloth and garment tools by SLOHERO. The code is licensed under GPL-3.0-or-later.

## Installation and getting started
Install the ZIP through Preferences > Get Extensions > Install from Disk. Open the 3D Viewport sidebar with N and select Cloth Lab. This build uses English button names, settings, tooltips, and operation messages. Blender menus follow your Blender language preference. Existing user-created object names are preserved.

Standard tools require Blender 4.5+. Experimental dynamic tearing and dedicated self-contact baking require Blender 5.2 with its built-in Dynamics assets. The preceding 0.8.0 build was tested on Windows 4.5.14 LTS and 5.2.2 LTS. This English UI build was tested on Windows Blender 5.2.2 LTS; its 4.5, macOS and Linux behavior has not been separately retested.

## Included tools
Nine fabric starter presets; native cloth properties; pins and animated grabs/releases; sewing; forces and masks; object and self-collision controls; wrinkle refinement and baking; six procedurally generated starter patterns; garment extraction; curve/body-surface patterns; seam management; cloth sculpt tools; QuadriFlow; materials and UVs; hems and static tears; high-resolution surface binding; and experimental dynamic tearing/self-contact baking.

## Package contents
This official-format ZIP contains source code and documentation only. It does not bundle the Cobalt reference .blend or other binary demo files. The optional Cobalt scene-loading button is hidden when that asset is absent. Existing Cobalt scene controls remain available when opening a compatible example scene separately. All core cloth/garment tools and procedural starter patterns work without external downloads. No file is automatically downloaded.

## Experimental dynamics limits
Self-contact in the experimental dynamic mode runs through its dedicated bake button, not ordinary Space-bar playback. Fast motion, tight folds, conflicting pins and initial intersections can still cause intersections or jitter. Exact continuous collision detection is not guaranteed. Per-frame mesh results can store changing topology; subframe interpolation and deformation-motion-blur caches are not provided. Ordinary Wind/Turbulence controls are not automatically connected to this mode. Start with modest mesh density and short, slow test sequences.

## Permissions
The files permission supports user-selected reference images and pattern/garment file imports and exports. No internet account, network access, auto-updater or additional Python installation is required.

## Changes from 0.7
0.7.1 adds blender_manifest.toml, removes legacy bl_info metadata, omits the bundled binary example, and makes optional example controls depend on its availability. The existing simulation and garment algorithms are unchanged.

This is an independent implementation, not affiliated with Simply Cloth Studio and not a copy of its paid source or commercial garment library. Similar workflow coverage does not imply identical algorithms or results. AI-assisted coding was used alongside Blender testing.

## English UI release
759 UI and message strings translated. The simulation algorithms, operator IDs, property IDs, enum identifiers, shader sockets, and extension ID are unchanged. This replaces the Korean package with the same cloth_lab ID; do not enable both as separate add-ons. Save your work and restart Blender after updating. Existing Korean versions remain available separately.
